Car Donation Centers Available in San Francisco

18. March 2010 Kategorie Donation Articles | 0 Kommentare »

Instead of going through the hassles of selling your car yourself you could donate it to a car donation center. These centers are either charities or work together with charities. If the center is an approved one, you will be able to deduct a certain amount of money from your tax return… Let us examine some of the car donation centers in San Francisco…

Habitat for Humanity in one association which builds homes thought community engagement in partnership with working families. In fact the average price of a home in San Francisco is about $746,000? In choosing this center, you are allowing the homeless to have a roof over their heads.

Car Donation Services or CDS is another association you might one to consider. This car donation center claims that they are able to obtain higher prices from the sale of a vehicle. This in turn would imply that the charity benefits much more from the sale and that you get a greater tax write-off.

San Francisco city chorus is one more car donation center. As implied by its name, this association is concerned with choral classics as well as traditional and folk music. You might want to help them.

The San Francisco SPCA is one car donation center you would like to have recourse to if you love animals. This association is devoted to saving cats and dogs which live in the streets. It also sensitizes people about awareness of the needs and requirements of animals as well as the necessity of having a human-animal bond.

If you choose to donate via Kars4Kids, you might even receive a free vacation voucher for a 2 night 3 day hotel stay. This does in no case impact on the tax deductions or the care given to children. You can thus be rewarded for your donation.

Car4causes in another car donation service that claims that if you deal with them you will be getting higher tax deduction and the charity obtaining more money. According to them, they achieve these results by selling the car through their retail locations rather than through auctions.

Well, you now have a broader idea of the services you might have recourse to. I really hope that you do choose a car donation center instead of selling your car.

The Gift of a Life: Religion and Organ Donation

16. March 2010 Kategorie Donation Articles | 0 Kommentare »

Organ donation is an act of individual will, but donors often ask the question - “Does my religion approve?” Different religions often have different moral codes, practices, values, institutions, and rituals associated with their beliefs. When it comes to organ donation, the majority of religions actually encourage organ donation. From Amish to Catholicism, they feel that it is a generous act of charity.

One of the largest religions that welcomes organ donation is the United Methodists. This church is aware of the meaning behind donating your organs. By allowing doctors to use your body parts if something were to happen to you, you could help a victim that is relying on organ transplant to give them hope for a better future. Tthe good deed is not only accepted but also encouraged by the church; thus they frequently encourage members to sign up for donation.

Other religions including Catholicism also feel that organ donation is an act of kindness. You are going out of your way to change someone’s entire life, even if that means giving up part of your self. In their eyes, it is a graceful and beautiful exchange, which only the giving will agree to. Although it is a personal choice, they do feel that it is one of the best deeds you can do for someone else.

On the other hand, there are religions that feel organ donations should only go so far. If you are helping out another person for their well being, donating your organs is wonderful. However, some people feel that if you are donating your body to science, this is an entirely different ball game. By donating your body for experiments, you are not helping someone else’s life or saving a heart or a liver. In their opinion, it is certainly a fine line between what is right and what is wrong.

Donating your body to science may be controversial, but still a great amount of religions believe that it is all based on personal choice. If you are fine with body donation, you could end up saving lives in the long run. By allowing doctors to use your body as an experiment for potential cures, medicines, and so forth, you could be saving the entire world from a hazardous disease. The advance in medicines and medical research depend on the deep understanding of our body. If organ donation for transplant saves one life, whole body donation for science and medical research may save thousands in long run.

Donate Cars to Single Mothers

13. March 2010 Kategorie Donation Articles | 0 Kommentare »

The process of car donation involves buying unused/unwanted cars from those who want to get rid of it and further donating them to the needy i.e. giving it to the charity organizations. These organizations can then use these donations to raise funds to further help the ones under them.

There are companies who facilitate these automobile donations that the process is smooth and doesn’t trouble people at either side. They do try their best to fund the charities and at the same time helping the ones that really want to get rid of their unused vehicle. The charity organizations themselves sell the cars donated to them at auctions and raise funds while there are companies who do this much also for the charity. They auction it at the highest possible prices and later give the money in charity. By both the ways, the final aim is to assist the development programs for all the needs of unfortunate ones.

NGOs also accept car donations which can be utilized in many areas. The auto parts are sold for monetary help to the needy or for charitable activities like rides for people under the care of NGO, cars for kids, and works of the organization.

Another aspect of using car donations is to help the single mothers who really want to possess a car for their daily routines. A vehicle helps single mothers in a great way as they can handle the transportation of their kids and their own transport to work and home. A car donation helps them in possessing a vehicle that will make their routines easier. This gives them the much needed independence to carry on their activities.

Check the genuineness of the organization that will facilitate the process of car donation. The credibility of NGO is important which will also let the tax deduction come in your hand. Make sure that the organization doesn’t turn out to be bogus and complicate the things for you. Something that is just right in front of you like churches or known NGOs. You can simply meet them and donate your car directly to them.

An important step is to sign over the title of the respective organization. And once the donation is done, don’t forget to collect your IRS tax receipt which will entitle you for the tax deduction up to $500. A receipt of acknowledgment of donation is also given by the NGO or charity organization. Once you donate your car to a nonprofit charity, you will need to sign over the title to the organization.

How to Write a Memorial Eulogy For a Mother

11. March 2010 Kategorie Donation Articles | 0 Kommentare »

The task of giving a speech and writing a eulogy for a mother is an honor, thus if you are not a professional or into a writing career or simply do not know how to make one, look for useful tips that can help you create a beautiful piece. It’s not an easy task, but as long as you have been given the opportunity to do it and you’ve accepted it, do not waste time and go on make yourself knowledgeable about it.

For some people writing a eulogy for a mother may be easy but to novices it’s not a walk in the park. The first thing to do when writing a eulogy for a mother is to make a list of all important responsibilities she’s done that everyone can know how she’s been a good one. It’s important because these are the issues that are going to be the center of the eulogy.

You’ll know if you’ve created a great eulogy when it’s makes people remember the deceased fondly. You can easily do it by citing numerous examples like how the deceased had fulfilled her responsibilities when she’s still alive. It’s a fact that all mothers want to be remembered as someone who is great and is self-sacrificing. We all know that mothers do make sacrifices for their spouse and children because of unconditional love. They’re someone who doesn’t expect something in return, just always giving out what she can to help her loved ones become a good person. You can say that it’s very easy to do, and actually it’s true.

But do not make it sound boring like simplifying her death’s cause. Include information that many people don’t know about the mother. To get more ideas and facts, search her journals, scrap books annual and diaries. Contact her friends also as they sure know some things about her that many may not be aware of. Take notice of the places she’d worked with, charities she might have given donation to and know her personal hobbies, interests, etc.

It can be better if you address the eulogy for a mother as a third person, instead of addressing yourself “as the family of”. Give it a livelier meaning, a good effect for the experiences that the mother did when she’s living. And to make it truly special, cite many examples of good deeds that the deceased has done. People will know how worthy the late mother is when he hears those deeds.

When you already finished it, let someone proofread it for you. If you heard something that’s not pleasant, make a correction about the sentence or phrase that’s cited. You can also look for resources that can help you find eulogy for a mother over the internet. There are websites there that offers those kinds of resources that can be helpful to you. You can also check articles that have written to specifically help other seekers find their needed information for an event like yours. You will find them very resourceful.

Donation Request Letters Need Strong Protagonist, Says Fundraising Company

9. March 2010 Kategorie Donation Articles | 0 Kommentare »

Do your donation request letters lack a protagonist? The most compelling appeal letters feature a man or a woman, a boy or a girl, that captures the donor’s attention and makes the appeal human, moving and profitable.

The most memorable novels, movies and television shows feature strong protagonists. The protagonist in a drama or story is the leading actor, the principal character. Some examples:

BOOKS

The Hobbit: Bilbo Baggins.

Moby Dick: Ishmael.

Great Expectations: Pip.

War and Peace: Pierre Bezukhov.

Catcher in the Rye: Holden Caulfield.

MOVIES

Out of Africa: Karen Blixen.

The Ten Commandments: Moses.

Star Wars: Luke Skywalker.

Gone with the Wind: Scarlett O’Hara.

My Fair Lady: Eliza Doolittle.

If you’re a hospital, your protagonist can be a heroic cancer patient.

If you’re a relief and development agency, your protagonist can be an aid worker serving AIDS orphans in Nigeria.

If you’re an environmental advocacy organization, your protagonist can be an activist chained to the railing outside the Indonesian Embassy in Ottawa.

If you’re an opera house, your protagonist can be your youngest, most promising singer.

A strong protagonist brings your fundraising letters alive because donors are people who give to people to help people. They don’t want to read about programs and policies. They want to read about people–the people you help, and your people who do the helping. A protagonist helps you tell your institutional story in human terms, to translate your case for support into flesh and blood.

Here is an example, taken from a thank-you letter mailed by a hospital to donors who had recently joined the hospital’s monthly giving program:

Dear Mr. Sharpe,

I shook hands with our country’s youngest heart transplant patient the other day, and he asked me to thank you. You are now a vital member of the team that’s keeping Brad alive.

Brad Phillips was only a few weeks old when the surgeons here at the Bendix Memorial Hospital gave him a new heart, saving his life. That was back in 1985. Since then, Brad has been rushed to hospital by air ambulance, caught pneumonia too many times to remember, received a second heart transplant, been diagnosed with cytomegalovirus disease, suffered kidney failure, and fallen in love with the hospital staff.

“I actually spend more time with them than I do with the family that brought me up,” says Brad. “I’m sure glad we get along so well!”

Your donors will quickly understand and embrace your cause when you show, in dramatic ways, who you are and who you serve, rather than describe what you do by naming your programs or listing your services. And the most vivid way to do that in a fundraising letter is to single out one person whom you help, or one person on your staff (or a volunteer), and to tell your story through that protagonist, showing them in action.

Turn Your Car Donations Into Cash

8. March 2010 Kategorie Donation Articles | 0 Kommentare »

If you’re looking to donate to charity, look no further than doing so by donating your old car. We all know that secretly, looking for a little compensation would be a fair trade for the sentimental value the things being given away has earned. For this reason, many people are looking for car donation programs where a cash equivalent is given back to them.

Car donations are the way many people choose to recycle their older model cars without having the headache of repairing, advertising, showing, and hopefully then selling them. Your donated car will not only get that old car off your driveway, or out of your garage. There are easy-to-use car donation websites where you can research hundreds of respected organizations, find answers to FAQs and complete simple online charity car donation forms. But turning cash by donating your car? Read on.

You might wonder – the terms “donation” and “cash” do not really match. One is an act done gratuitously. The latter is for barter.

The closest thing to a car donation with cash equivalent that we could get is the tax deduction that the IRS would give us in exchange for donating our cars. A generous compensation package is given to the right donors in the form of a tax write off, an amount depending on how the charity uses the car. If the charity decides to keep the car, you receive an amount equal to its fair market value. If they sell the car, you receive a tax deduction equal to the price it was sold for.

These compensation options are just as good as cash, and this is the closest thing to compensation as you can get. Remember, the tax deduction is a bonus and the real reason for donating should be to give from the kindness of your heart.

Though seeking a program that offers a car donation with cash equivalent would be a trademark of human nature, it is responding to the plight of others that should be our calling in life.

The Gift of Charity Donations

7. March 2010 Kategorie Donation Articles | 0 Kommentare »

What typically stops us from donating to charity?

Life.

While I firmly believe that nearly every human on this Earth has the will to donate, they feel that they lack the money to pay and the time to volunteer. While this is certainly the case for some people it is also possible to create money and make time. No, I’m not talking about money counterfeiting, I’m talking about the internet. There is now a plethora of new and unique ways to make donations to reputable charities without doing a thing you would not normally do.

Freerice.com is a good place to start. This website can easily replace some of your free online gaming time. You are given a word and a list of definitions; choose the correct definition, donate 20 grains of rice to hungry people. While that may not sound very significant, it adds up quickly. Not only is this site intended to help feed the starving people in this world, but also to improve your vocabulary skills. The rice is donated through the UN World Food Program and is a sister site of Poverty.com. It is free to play and in less than twenty minutes you have donated at least one bowl of rice and hopefully enhanced your vocabulary. Can’t beat that!

Another great site is thehungersite.com. Simply click on the small banner of the home page of the website and donate 1.1 cups of food, to help fight hunger, for free. You can click under the animal rescue tab to donate .6 bowls of pet food. Click the breast cancer tab to help a woman get a mammogram. In all, there are six different causes listed so donating is easy and free. Next time you are searching the internet without aim, I suggest making a short trip to The Hunger Site and clicking away.

If you spend your internet time shopping you can also shop for a cause. If you shop through The Hunger Site, proceeds from sales of goods can go to everything from children’s literacy to the rainforest. Holiday and birthday shopping from this site is a great way to find some very unique gifts. Want to do more shopping? You can also head over to eBay. They have set up a foundation where you can buy and sell products for a cause. To find out more about the products or how to sell, visit communitygives.org.

There is a warning though, once you start donating for free it becomes addicting; to feed your addiction visit thenonprofits.com. This site is a wonderful website to make a large variety of clickable donations. Fight cancer, stop violence, clean the oceans and plant a tree all with a couple of clicks. Many of the sites listed provide information relating to the individual cause as well as resources to help improve conditions. If you’re not sure what your cause is, or you want to do as much as you can in as short a time as possible, these are a couple of the better sites for your charitable nature.

So next time you find yourself Googling the phrase, “bored” (which is searched for an average of 5,190 times a day according to WordTracker) try to make a little fun for yourself by giving back to your fellow man, or tree, or animal, whatever your cause may be.

Current U.S. Postage Rates

28. February 2010 Kategorie Donation Articles | 0 Kommentare »

Since the increase in the prices of most recent post, there was some confusion about the current rates of delivery. Here are the new rates, effective May 12, 2008:

letter O, first class (1 oz) 42 cents
letter O, first class (2 ounces) of 59 cents
Postcard or 27 cents
O large envelope (2 oz) $ 1.00
O Certified Mail $ 2.70
Or Money Orders (up to $ 500) $ 1.05
O International Letter (First Class)
(Canada and Mexico) (1 oz) 72 cents
O InternationalLetter (First Class)
(Other countries) (1 oz) 94 cents

The post office will be limited to offering discounts for postage purchased through their click and cabin service, and other methods of others, popularized by the online retailers like eBay. EBay sellers often use Priority Mail flat-rate services offered by USPs. For interested suppliers and others to send more than one letter, here is the current priority undiscountedMail flat rate, which entered into force May 12, 2008:

Or Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope $ 4.80
Or Priority Mail flat rate of $ 9.80
Or Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes (large) $ 12.95
(APO / FPO destinations: $ 10.95)

USPS Express Mail is switching to a system based on the area, but it remains, even taking into account the weight of the package. This means prices in May fell for the packets sent to nearby destinations, but increases for those who are sent to large distances, like New York to Los Angeles. Packages are shipped via Express Mail on the average distances, should see little or no change in price with the current rates of delivery. In addition, the Express Mail flat rate envelope will always be available at a price of $ 16.50, and will not change by distance or weight.

First class mail international is passed to the form-based pricing, which means that the price depends on the size of the letter you send.

The rate increase is something that allhe needs to get used to the December 20, 2006, responsibility for the Post and Enhancement Act was signed into law, the universal service designed to increase postal rates, with 45 days notice, but only if the proposed increase in the rate of inflation over the preceding 12 months. Operating in these guidelines, the USPS plans on an annual increase each May, giving consumers notice of 90 days instead of 45 applications. So if you plan to buy first-class shipping in bulk, you may wantexamine the characteristics of the Forever stamp of universal service providers. It allows you to pay the current rate of postage for priority (currently 42 cents) and the stamp will be good for a first class letter 1 ounces at any time in the future. There is no need to keep checking online to get current rates of postage for a letter first class, when all we want to do is mail in your electricity bill.

If the USPS does what he says, consumers can expect information on the upcoming increase in prices in February2009.
